Here's how it works!
Food Love serves Howard County and Anne Arundel County, with limited service* to Montgomery County, Baltimore County, and Prince George’s County (travel/delivery fees may apply outside of a 20 mile radius from me).
Meals are prepared in my kitchen and delivered directly to your home.
To get started, we have a phone or in-person meeting to discuss your needs, any allergies, dietary preferences, health concerns/challenges, etc. so I have a solid understanding of how to prepare food for you and/or your family. We will also establish a day that works for our schedules for me to cook for you each week.
Each week, at least two days prior to your cooking day, you send me your menu (and any questions, clarifications, if you need help deciding on the menu, etc.). I email back with the list of what we need and you tell me what you don’t have (that I need to get).
On the day you are to receive your meal, I shop by 9am (at Whole Foods), cook, label and store the food in containers I provide, and deliver at an agreed-upon time (delivery times range, as it is often difficult to say exactly when I will be done cooking) but typically are between 4 and 6pm. Upon my next delivery, I will collect the containers from the previous week so you don't have a pile up of dishes and we can reuse them multiple times. I am happy to collect dishes you provide for your cooking day, if you prefer.
The service fee for each 4-serving meal is $75* plus the cost of groceries I need to purchase. This covers basic menu planning, shopping, cooking, cleaning, and travel. Please note, there may be an additional fee for extensive menu-planning, however, and this will always be discussed in advance.
Only want every other week? Once a month? I can do that. Need to skip a week? No problem, however, I simply ask for a week (two, ideally) notice to cancel your reserved cooking day. Life happens and I am flexible and understanding, however, I can’t schedule another client if I don’t have adequate notice. Please note that a fee of 50% of your service day will be charged for days cancelled without at least 72 hours notice.
Side notes:
Please note that my home kitchen is not allergen-free (gluten, dairy, peanut, tree nut, egg, corn, soy), as I cook for several families with a variety of health issues and competing needs (including my own family). However, I am highly trained in food allergens, cross-contamination, and food safety, and can use counter covers and separate cooking tools as needed. If food allergies are a significant concern, we can figure out if my kitchen is safe/suitable for you.
I am ServSafe Certified, fully trained in kitchen and food health and safety practices, as well as COVID-safe protocols for food production.
